Training Seminars

As our culture becomes more diverse, it is becoming increasingly challenging to effectively reach out to our communities with the gospel. The generational gap is as severe as it has ever been and our ever shrinking world has brought foreign missions right to our doorsteps. Citywide crusades and the four spiritual laws may have worked well in the past, but, as someone who has worked in cross-cultural and cross generational ministry since 1991, I can testify that they simply don’t cut it anymore. However, other methods do - I have seen God use them mightily.

Today’s culture wants to hear a story, not a list of theological facts. Millions of people hunger to know the grand narrative that makes sense of their existence (even as professors and the media elite assure them that such a tale does not exist) and they want to be able to discuss and debate the meaning of that story. They want to be able to interact with those that are telling it, whether that be through email, over coffee, or as a caller to a radio show. They don’t want to be spoon fed, they want to be engaged.

I believe Don Johnson Ministries can help your church do that more effectively. Our training seminars will help your church better understand how to reach our culture with the gospel.

Topics include:

  • Effective Evangelism in the 21st Century: Understanding and Breaking Down Contemporary Roadblocks to the Gospel

  • Telling the Story of Jesus: How to Explain the Gospel as a Story Rather Than a Fact Sheet

  • Advancing the Kingdom of God in a Rich Culture: Spreading the Gospel to People who Seem to Have Everything

  • Advancing the Kingdom of God in a Pluralistic / Relativistic Culture: Spreading the Gospel to People who Believe that all Religions are Equal

  • Advancing the Kingdom of God in a Post-Modern Culture: Spreading the Gospel to People who Don’t Like or Accept Proposition Truth Claims

  • Relational Apologetics: The Role of Listening and Asking Questions in Evangelism

I also provide traditional pulpit supply for churches, camps and conferences. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  I look forward to talking with you.
